Portraying Harry Houdini, actor Duffy Hudson, from Burbank, California, escaped from a straitjacket and handcuffs, performed a trick using thread and needles and had fun interacting with the crowd at Norelius Community Library on Monday night. Toward the end of the presentation, he said it’s not the chains on handcuffs, the straps on straitjackets or the locks that hold people back. It’s their belief and fear that chains, straps and locks will hold them back. He encouraged people to change their thinking and unlock the magic inside of them. Hudson performed as Edgar Allan Poe at the library last year. He has a number of shows in his repertoire, including Albert Einstein and actor and war hero Audie Murphy.
