Kathleen Agnes Voss, affectionately known as Kay, was born on July 20, 1954, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Orville and Madonna (Hansen) Christiansen. She graduated from High School in 1972. On June 24, 1972, Kay married the love of her life, Larry Voss. This union was blessed with three sons who meant the world to her. Family was at the core of Kay’s being, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

 For many years, Kay led a fulfilling life dedicated to helping others as a Career Development Specialist at Job Corps in Denison. Her passion for guiding individuals towards their professional goals left a lasting impact on many lives. She had a passion for gardening, visiting with neighbors, spending quality time with her family, baking, cooking, and cherishing moments with her loyal companion and dog Bella. Her warm and caring nature resonated with all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kay peacefully passed away at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on Thursday, April 4, 2024, attaining the age of 69 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Madonna Christiansen; husband, Larry Voss; brother, Ted Christiansen; sisters: LaDonna Christiansen in infancy, Teresa Monroe, Becky Engel, Marita Lingle and Patricia Auen; brother-in-law, Allen Lingle; nephew, Jeff Lingle; niece, Pennie Lingle; grand-nephews, Brooks Luft and Kruz Kahl; and grandson, Trenton Tiller.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Chad Voss (Kim) of Gretna, NE; Ryan Voss (Shelly) of Gretna, NE; and Andrew Voss (Jennifer) of Louisville, NE; grandchildren: Katelyn, Jackson, Fischer, Landon, Parker, Hudson, & Elaina; siblings: Debbie Greene (Dan) of Storm Lake, IA; Kelli Christiansen of Blair, Nebraska; Kristi Bell (Jim) of Gretna, NE; Beth Vogt (Russ) of Omaha, NE; and Kathy Kahl (Gary) of Denison. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in her heart.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa with Rev. Kurt Kaiser officiating. Serving as musicians were Dylan Vogt and Karen Kahl. Musical selections were ‘On Eagle’s Wings,” “He Knows My Name” and “I Want to Walk As a Child of the Light.” Serving as pallbearers were Fischer Voss, Landon Voss, Parker Voss, Jackson Bathen and Hudson Voss. Immediately following the service, the family invited everyone to the Boulders Conference Center for a time of fellowship and lunch. Services were entrusted to the Huebner Funeral Home.
